Over the bank holiday weekend I made these cacao protein balls. They are to be had as an energy booster and only 1 per day even though they are very moreish! Hope you enjoy making them... this is a very easy recipe.


  • 2 tsps Whey protein powder (I used chocolate flavour)
  • 2 tbsps fFax seeds
  • 1 tsp Chia seeds
  • 5 tbsps Almonds
  • 2 tbsps Cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • Half a tsp Vanilla extract
  • Desiccated coconut for rolling

circle Put the almonds and flax seeds into a small food processor and grind until it looks like flour.

two Add the remaining ingredients to a mixing ball and mix together using the back of a metal spoon and pressing in a downwards motion to bind the ingredients together. This will take some work but keep going until the mixture becomes moist and is binded.

three Divide the mixture into 8 balls (about 1 and a half teaspoons worth of mixture per ball).

circle (1) Scatter the desiccated coconut onto a plate and roll each ball in it to coat the outside.

circle (7) Enjoy! Keep in the fridge so they set together and keep up to 5 days :)
